HEALTH BULLETIN:

Corona Virus Testing at Elmhurst

Mayor de Blasio and NYC Health + Hospitals announced expanded, appointment-only COVID-19 testing capacity across 10 hospitals, including Elmhurst Hospital.  The expanded testing capacity will help keep people seeking testing out of emergency departments and ensure testing access for New Yorkers with moderate-to-severe symptoms.

Those with mild illness, who are not above the age of 50 or have underlying health conditions, should continue to stay home, practice social distancing, and consult their health care provider or call 311 if their symptoms do not subside in 3-4 days. New Yorkers who have high priority because of age, pre-existing conditions and symptoms, call 1-844-NYC-4NYC for more information.

Some people are saying because of the pandemic; our lives will not be the same as it was before the pandemic. Okay, that means we have to make our lives better. Better choices. Healthier decisions. Quality time. My family started morning workouts and walking. Share some of your new activities.  “We have to work and be creative to preserve and exercise our freedoms in every changing circumstances called life.”

Practice Social responsibility. Be mindful of how your decisions will impact others. Seek information from reliable sources so that you can share it with others. Knowledge is power!
